Hickory Table: 74"x40"
This Hickory table will look incredible in your space. The grain pattern is very unique with lighter colored sapwood (outer, younger part of the tree) streaks contrasting the eye catching dark streaks in the heartwood (older, center of the tree) Ready for the deets? This Hickory table is made from 8/4 Hickory, 8/4 is woodworking lingo for 8 quarters which comes to 2 inches thick when we get the rough lumber. After we work our magic, the table finishes at around 1.75 inches thick, much thicker than many Hickory tables you’ll find at the big furniture stores.

The Finish
The table is finished with (more woodworking lingo), a hardwax oil finish. This is a 0% VOC, plant-based finish that will never flake or peel and it feels amazing! You can actually feel the wood grain because this finish doesn’t coat the entire table in a plastic-like film like other finishes that you’re used to. This stuff is durable too, stop worrying so much about rings from glasses or scratches from sliding a plate on the table. Now, you can’t leave standing water on the table or a sweating glass overnight but a wet glass on the table during dinner won’t cause an issue.
